Referring to the title, ‘mere humdum’, meaning, a close friend or a lover, I conceived my homeland ‘Pakistan’ to be the one, by representing Her as a flourishing garden. Imagining myself as a Gardener, my wish to eliminate everything rotten from the surface wounding Her identity, the work became a metaphoric illustration of a devoted caretaker, seeking sincere measures to hide and alter the injurious entities into optimistic pleasures.
